May You Prosper #8

Hafiz once wrote, “Now that all your worry has proven such an unlucrative business, why not find a new job.”

Inhale for 7 seconds:  1,  2,   3,  4,  5,  6,  7.

Suspend the breath for 7 seconds:  1,  2,  3,  4,  5,  6,  7.

Release the breath for 6 seconds:  1,  2  3,  4,  5,  6.

Continue this breath pattern for as long as you like, or as long as you live, or as long as you love.

Now drop your problems.  Just drop them all.

May you enjoy longevity, tranquility, self balance, and intuition.  And may this breathing business prove more and more lucrative with every breath.

May You Prosper #7

“Your consciousness must have mastery over you.  Not your reason, not your logic, not your needs, not your projection and not your life.  When your consciousness states it is not worthwhile, then even if your life may be at stake, let it go.  When you touch that height, God comes to you.”  ~Yogi Bhajan

And there is also a line that is repeated over and over in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib that strongly encourages one to live life as if one is dead while still alive.

What this means to me–at this moment–is that each day I allow experience to move through me, roll around me, flow this way and that.  I engage this life with full enthusiasm, yet some facet of Me is lying in corpse pose, in a state of eternal, peaceful repose.

Yeah.  Who needs to cling to this one human life with ferocious, possessive energy anyway?  Instead, may I cling to the vibration of I am the light of my soul.  I am beautiful.  I am bountiful.  I am bliss.

Consciousness exists beyond this one lifetime.  So, if this expression exists in a sacred text–this expression that regards life subordinate to  consciousness–what kind of implications does this present for us in times of mass violence?

One implication may be that my mind and my soul can now engage in life with more energy and attention focused on my personal present moment, which is really all I ever have.  I can focus my energy to serve and uplift myself and those around me, rather than being consumed by the loud clamor of mass media, a mass clamor whose reporting repeatedly reminds me that I am supposed to be fearful, on guard, and feeling separated from my fellow human beings.

May we grow more and more fully conscious, aware of our personal power and our bliss, our beauty, and our bounty.  May we grow less enamored with The Times and become more aware of how to bow to the inner wisdom that is timeless.

Diamond Mind, Creator’s Mind

Day Ten

“The mind is above time and space.  If you decide not to complain, the mind will immediately compensate you with intuition.” ~Yogi Bhajan

Besides, intuition feels so much better than complaining.  There’s so much too complain about: I’m underpaid.  The weather’s bad.  I don’t get enough sleep.  I don’t get enough love.  I’m surrounded by stupid people.

Such complaints are not worthy of diamond mind energy.  When salary is too low, revel in the expertise and heart you devote to your craft.  When the weather makes us physically uncomfortable, compose a song.  When sleep deprived, commit to exploring and discovering the space within you where there are wells of boundless pranic energy.  When love starved, give more love away.  When surrounded by stupid people, bathe them in the light of your mind.

Diamond Mind, Creator’s Mind

Day Nine

It’s easy for the mind to dwell in frustration.  Frustration is a habit of the negative mind.  Allow the wild mind to be flexible and playful with singularity and duality and egoism and emotion.  But, commit to a steady focus on infinity and neutrality.  May infinity and neutrality ignite the light of the mind.  May this yogi’s mind dwell in the mind of the Beloved Creator.  Sat Nam!

Day Thirty Nine

Beloved Everywhere,  This is my conscious prayer.

May the human family learn to thrive and be happy under the increased levels of pressure that we are all experiencing.  May we train our minds and intuition to perceive inner dimensions while the senses navigate the outer world with dignity and grace.  May more and more souls chose to experience the sacred sound current as a way to elevate the frequencies of the mind’s thought waves.  May we all come to understand the significance of every word we speak and every word we think.  May we accept, take responsibility for, and acknowledge that our words create our world.  May we come to celebrate that by tuning in to our inner sounds, and by harmonizing those inner sounds with sacred sounds, we experience our inner wisdom and merge with the vast awareness of Divine Silence.  If only one being on this planet experiences Divine Silence, may that one experience elevate every being. May collective human consciousness know deep and perfect ease with All That Is.

Day Thirty Five

What an almighty challenge it is to live according to consciousness!  Every moment presents enormous challenge.  All the varieties of personalities and energies to work with!  All the bizarre distractions and overload to the nervous system!  All the tragedies and celebrations! All the zombies who are totally indifferent or checked out!  All the over dramatization and sensationalizing and celebrity and too-cool-for-school irreverence!

My meditation practice saved me today.  There were certain moments and situations in which it would have been easier and more comfortable, more habitual, to fall into the behavior patterns and thought patterns that occur when I rely on my ego, my emotions, or my intelligence in certain trying moments.  But, I am slowing my breath and reminding myself to remain fully conscious, fully alert, ready at any moment to face Life’s challenges with dignity, grace, and consciousness.

What helped today?  The image of the white light growing and expanding out from my heart center worked miracles in keeping me in my consciousness.  This vision is a skill I refined practicing this Isht Sodhana Mantra Kriya, and because I’ve been practicing every day, the vision just came into my mind when I needed it, as if it had been gifted to me by a generous Muse.  Receiving the gift was pure delight, and I was astonished at how much this helped.  As soon as I envisioned the white light growing and glowing and expanding from the center of my heart out into the universe, a divine grace intervened in my predicament, and the energy around the predicament changed.  The predicament is still there, but the energy around it is different; now, I have such clarity about the situation that I can move forward relying on my intuitive poise.

I’m feeling blessed to be cozying up to the flow of grace.

May you enjoy the flow of grace in each moment.  May your soul be served by your own beautiful, intuitive poise.  May the pure light of consciousness become your habitual way of being!

Day Twenty Six

When we agree to accept that each one of us is excellent, with potential beyond what we usually recognize, then we shall become willing to help one another realize that excellence.

May your mind be supported by your will rather than supported by ego.  May you have breadth, quickness, and openness.  May you open up to Infinity and become Infinity.  May you radiate courage and selflessness.  May you understand through compassion.  May angels, saints, and sages accompany you everywhere.  May you smile often.
